Building Hope and Advancing Health care in 2022

All at The Duncan Hospital Charitable Trust would like to wish our supporters a very Happy Christmas and send thanks for all your kind donations. Our biggest project to date – the building of the new Nursing College continues apace with the building slowly starting to rise from its foundations. We very much look forwards to bringing you further updates as this college is truly going to transform nursing training at The Duncan.

So much has gone on this year, so we have just picked out some highlights. Staff celebrated World Cerebral Palsy Day this year by inviting local children with the condition to come along with their families and learn more about nutrition and the importance of medicine and exercise. The hospital has also started actively working with transgender people who face grave issues such as lack of jobs plus public exclusion.

The Duncan’s Community Health Team has been working with the Mahler Foundation to offer sheltered accommodation in Raxual, plus support to patients who are destitute, many struggling with mental illness but who have nowhere to go after discharge from hospital care.

These are just a few of the initiatives carried out this year. In 2023 the DHCT launch our new nurse sponsorship fundraiser to help local girls get a life-changing nursing education at The Duncan. Look out for details in the New Year!
